The Engagement House Living Room Updates

Living Room Updates

All of the updates in the living room were purely cosmetic. We didn’t move or tear down any walls. It was a really nice space to begin with; it just needed a little TLC.

We were hoping to find hardwood floor underneath the carpet in this room, but unfortunately it was just sub floor. We installed 3/4” thick unfinished red oak hardwood floors and then had them sanded down and stained. Next, replaced the bow windows. They were so old that they were actually leaking water into the room whenever it rained, plus they were inoperable. Replacing the bow windows was a biiiig expense, but totally worth it in the end. We upgraded to windows with grilles in them, and I love how they look. We topped off the updates with recessed lighting and a new coat of paint, and that’s mostly all this room needed! Here’s some progress pictures:

Here’s another angle of the room that shows the bow windows we replaced.
