The Engagement House Living Room Updates
Here it is! One of my favorite rooms in the whole house. I just love the transformation we made happen. Here’s a shot of the before:
If you’ve been following us at all, you know I looooove symmetry. We removed the built-in and the closet to the right of the fireplace to achieve more symmetry, and I think it made all the difference. Of course, we also changed almost everything else in the room - with the exception of one thing! The hearth in front of the fireplace just got a deep clean. Other than that, everything else was altered in some way, shape, or form.
The other side of the living room connects to the foyer, as shown in the picture above. We also made some pretty massive changes to this space. See below for the before picture:
We opened up the doorway and the staircase, which made the space feel bigger. It also made everything more open, and made the foyer feel more welcoming. Among other things, we removed the ceiling beams and ceiling fan. I’m not a huge fan of either, unless you have the perfect space for them.
