Childhood Home - The Basement
When we started the project, the basement was completely unfinished. The first step was to come up with a plan for the new living space. With that in place, we installed all of the rough-ins for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical to make sure that the new living space would be safe and comfortable.
Next, we added insulation and drywall to the walls and ceiling to improve energy efficiency and create a clean, finished look. Then we painted the walls a neutral color to give the space a fresh, modern feel.
To complete the project, we installed luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring throughout the basement. LVP is a great choice because it's durable, easy to clean, and looks great. We also installed new can lights throughout the space to provide ample lighting.
One of the standout features of the basement is the wet bar we installed. We chose dark cabinets, added a beverage fridge, and even a Delta faucet glass rinser to make it a functional and stylish addition to the space.
We also left room for storage by adding a wall to separate some unfinished space from the finished space.
